Back in April, several of us went on a day trip down to Borrego. We had a great time and I got to meet some of you for the first time.
We flat towed our 40 down to the meeting spot and went from there. At the end of the day, while we were hooking back up for the ride home, I noticed someone checking us out.
After a short time he approached and we started talking about cruisers. Turns out, he's a Borrego local and owns a '71 40.
He's owned this particular 40 since it was about 6 months old and still drives it to this day. Figures it has about 200K on it, and other than faded paint is pretty clean. He has made some mods; small lift, tire and gas can carrier, shift linkage on the floor, but kept all the old parts.
Now to the point.
He has been asking if I knew of anyone looking for some 40 parts so he can clean out his garage. We ended up going for a ride this weekend down to his place to take a look and see what kind of "things" he was talking about.
I picked up some barn doors and a front heater, but he has several more things to get rid of.
Are any of you guys are interested in;
long jump seats
hub caps (nice)
rear side glass
rear heater with hoses
stock shackles
smog items
column shift linkage
and I'm sure there's more.
I'm not comfortable putting his info on here, so
send me a PM and I can forward your info to him. He doesn't really have an idea what any of these things are worth, but we worked out a price that I felt was fair to both. Please do the same.
He said he would join the board to sell his stuff, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up.
He is a busy guy and can take a few days to answer emails, but he does answer.
