Possible Vapor Lock Issue: I have a '74 FJ40 with a 350 and throttle body. I seem to be having a problem with it Vapor Locking. The fan is coming on and the temp are fine. I have had it stall after driving it, letting it idle and then continuing to drive again. After driving it and turing it off, it has problems starting for about 15 minutes. If it stalls or does not start, I have sprayed starter fluid directly into the throttle body & that seems to clear it up long enough to return to a safe driveway

If you have the TBI electric fuel pump, it is not vapor lock as the fuel pressure is quite high. Sounds more like a hot restart problem, which is either a bad sensor (temperature?, MAP?, TPS?) improper wiring or bad ECU. Is it setting any error codes?
