Got the following from summit racing thinking it would be a nice weekend project to tackle:

After assembly (only left/passenger as wanted to compare between the two), it didn't turn on. Diagnosis showed 15A left headlight fuse blown .. replaced and it went out again. So obviously something is wrong, thing is, on their website it says "The simple plug-and-play assemblies", but that does not seems to be the case.

BTW, beside the two conventional plugs, there's one more plug in addition to two red wires coming out from unit. What makes it even more fun, there're no instructions what so ever in the package.

Any idea what's missing?

If I remember correctly, on some of those aftermarket ones, the wiring was backwards.. but I dont remember if it was on the low beam or high beam

So plug in just the lows, replace fuse and see if it blows, then do the same with just the highs. Just flip the ones that are busting the fuse. I am not at home to check mine and tell you which ones are the backwards ones. But I have those same lights.

Those cheap lights fill with water if you off-road them. Finally pulled them out for OEM lights

What’s missing are your factory headlights. Should never leave home without them.

edit: didn't the great johnny joint loving jon ward shove these specially assembled near apple factory o'reilly special lights on joe rogan's $1.5m 80 series?

Mine are starting to lose the coating on them after almost 3 years, but I rarely wash my 80 since its my yard donkey. So sitting in the desert is no bueno for them. I should have gone depo or factory.
