Hi!

I am getting married June 23rd in Whitsett, NC (right outside of Greensboro) and I am looking for an FJ40 to use as a getaway car! My fiance drives an 07 FJ Cruiser, so I thought this would be a great surprise for him on our wedding day. If anybody would be willing to rent us their FJ for a little bit on the wedding day, I would love to talk to you! Any information would be so helpful. Thank you in advance!

(I posted this a while back, but wanted to bring it back to see if there is any chance somebody new can see it!)

I'm the youngest child and had an older brother (5 years older) that basically would take anything I have and ruin it. So for that reason, and perhaps because I love my 40 like a child, and with the safety, brakes, rollover protection on a truck that's almost 50 years old I'd be hesitant to let anyone 'get away' in it...let alone someone I don't know.

But good luck - it's a nice plan and would make for some great pics!

Perhaps you could just buy him one as a wedding present? Or ya know, my wife makes FJ40 themed cufflinks that would be a nice groomsman gift :)

I would help but my rig is modified to the point I wouldn’t trust anyone driving it in the open road. Plus it’s not a wedding worthy kind of truck. Good luck it’s a cool thought

Best of luck to you. You may run into an issue trying to get people to lend a valuable vehicle with hard to find replacement parts to a stranger.

Try turo, it's a long shot but I have seen them for rent on there before.

Another long shot is to find a dealer with one and strike up a deal with them. A buddy's wife did that for a classic mustang before. It was treated as a test drive so insurance was covering them and they paid the dealer on the side.

Let me specify a little more- by "getaway car" I mean just something for him to talk some pictures with the day of and drive from one end of the property to the other! I don't want to actually take it off the venue grounds. I just thought it would be something nice to surprise him with and let him drive briefly. If it was in the budget I definitely would buy him one of his own!
