I just finished replacing all the spring bushings on the trailer and decided to SOA it to get it to line up better with my cruiser.
cruiser sits on the 38.5's

just for fun i put one of my old 38.5 x 16 x 15 on to see how it fit wow
it might of even fit before the SOA . am i getting carried away here or does it look O.K. ,is there any logic behind putting such big tires on your offroad trailer ??or am i just being silly :grinpimp:
the other tire is a 33,which is what i have on it now.

yep...definitely run them. best to have same or close to the same trailer/tow rig sizes. not only for 2nd & 3rd spares if needed, but it will track and follow obstacles through the same line easier i think...not to mention being able to go over rocks & ruts alot easier. plus...big tires are just cool :D

trailer looks great so far!

Hijack! I miss my 80 man! That is all :D

Flotation over mud and sand and silt is always a good thing. As is clearance under the axles.

But if it is a rig for the roads/back roads, then the extra rolling resistance probably outweighs any advantage

Mark...

Could you compensate by running a higher tire pressure?

what about a narrower tire? that would have to reduce the resistance also??

Bump. I just snapped a quick pic but I finally upgraded my tires and wheels on my rig
so I put a couple of my old swampers on the trailer. We'll see how they like the trails.
I will post a full meal deal pic of rig and trailer when we get back. 38.5 x 14.5 x 15

:cheers;
