Had to dig these out today to send some pics to SOR.

Is this a rear LV seat? How does it fasten?

When I got my rig this seat was laying in the back sideways. I'm assuming it is, but I don't know, never seen one before?

Thanks, Matt

Looks right from the bottom!

looks like a LV seat, but not sure what the 2nd set of mounts are for on yours. Also it looks like your seat has a strap on it......

also your seat bottom had the wide bottom, can see on mine its not curved(for the fenderwells)

Pimp, I got one up on you!!! I'm so happy :D The second set of mounts are a restraint mechanism (keeps the seat from going too far forward). I've got the same on my '67.

hmmmm, both my 64's are the same......

I don't see how those work?

Mine's a '67 and I think Matt's is too. Those extra mounts connect to what looks like a tailgate support and is also fastened to the floor. When the seat is fully folded up the supports are fully extended. When the seat is in the normal seating position the support is retracted underneath the seat. I think the holes in the sloped part of the floor in the picture of Matt's 'Cruiser is where those supports mount to.

thought his was a 65, but regardless. I think I get how they work. But I don't see the bottom seat mounts on the tub and those 2 brackets on the sloped part of the tub are just on one side, they look more like seat belt mounts.......but I dunno

Data plate says 65, but the seat was just laying in there, so may not be the one that came with the vehicle?

Cruiser guy, or anyone else for that matter, got any photos of all the chub your talking about? Lots of pics with lots of details if anyone has got them? Geez, where's Treeroot when you need him, figured by now he would have dedicated a webpage just to this by now on his site :D

Sounds like I'm going to need to know what to fabricate ;)

Thanks, Matt

63/64 had the no wing bottoms. Should also have the pop up cowl vent. Per Rick D. the later 64 seats were too wide and would hit the inside door handles when folded up. 65 to 66 were similar but per Gene aka LCJ, the heights of the seatbacks varied even in the same years.

Here is a pic of Goodnight's LV seat:

Looks like I have that seat and I have the holes in the floor for those brackets.

Now, does anyone have any brackets, arms and mounting hardware I can borrow for a week so I can copy them?

Thanks, Matt

you need to find a 66-67. I know someone who has a 66.

Question for you LV master. What do I have then? Data plate said 65, but obviously I've got those holes in the floor for those brackets? That seat should fit correct if I have the holes in the floor? Do I have a 66-67 then?

Thanks, Matt

all 66 had the brackets....later 65 probably did. You have the 3" brow, no gas filler cover, the holes for the little reflectors, and the metal "land cruiser" tailgate emblem. It isn't a 64 because you have the grill style cowl vent, refector holes, and emblem. It isn't a 66 because no fuel fill door.

Later 65 build

Matt,

I can get some measurements off mine and send (e-mail) to you (should be easy to make with a decent set of drawings and I have AutoCad). Don't forget about my center arm though!!

Maybe you got some seat parts off another LV down there you want to trade for? Just curious?

If you have autocad, that would be awesome. I have a guy who has a laser cutter table that uses auto cad, it can produce absolutely perfect parts. Very easy also.

How soon did you need that center arm? I'm leaving on a road trip on the 22nd of Sept. to San Diego and won't be back until Oct. 4th. Picking up my OEM fenders from Cruiser Dan in New Mexico :) Stopping in Denver to pick up a new aftermarket pick box for my neighbors 1940 ford pick up, should be a good trip :) I just got a lot of stuff to do from today until the 22nd to get ready, just curious as to when you have to have it?

Thanks, Matt

I've got someone lined up to bring it down from Illinois so long as they have it by Oct. 7. I'm going to be at the wreckers in Honduras this weekend so if I luck out and find a center arm there I'll be OK but I'm not holding my breath (40 year old Central American trucks are beat pretty good).

The folks that can bring the center arm down are flying so it would need to have the tie rods knocked out so as it doesn't take up too much space. As for other parts for LV's they are as scarce here as they are at home (remember only 5000 worldwide according to root45).

I use AutoCAD LT2000 which writes a *.dwg file so it should work (it's AutoCAD without 3D).

Let me know.

If you need it by Oct. 7th let me know for sure, by Sat. if you can. I will get it off and in the mail before I leave on the 22nd. It won't make it there if I wait until I get back.

If you find some of those brackets, sweet, if not, oh well? I can make them to, just need something to copy or go off of.

Thanks, Matt

I'll create some drawings of my brackets then in AutoCAD. I'll let you know via PM on the address and whether I can find anything.

matt,
that seat came from a 45lv of the guys on pirate was parting out(groundup?) IIRC it was a 67? so it might be a bit different than the 65? I know for sure there are different seat shapes for the bottoms and the later ones have thefolding brackets to keep them from going to far forward....
