I have never seen this issue addressed (and I don't have access to my FSM at the moment) - is there any way to flush the old brake fluid out of the ABS unit during regular brake bleeding? My Audi ABS pump can be activated with the diagnostic software to flush out the trapped fluid. Is there any way to do this on a Cruiser? Would it be as simple as putting 12 volt power and a ground on the motor pump connector?

Anyone? Thanks.

I believe that the normal brake bleeding procedure bleeds the ABS acuator.

Where did you get that info? I have always assumed that the closed solenoids and valves inside the unit will trap at least some fluid. ABS works by dumping pressure from a locked brake. I would like to open those valves so any residual bad fluid gets sucked out through the cailiper bleed screws.

Maybe I am chasing a phantom... anyone else? Christo - what do you guys do in your shop?

John
