Is being a "200 guy" a good thing?

New to me this week as my DD.
2010 LC with only 35k miles. It spent its first 6 years in Arizona then 2 years in Ind, then I found it at a Chrysler dealership that really didn't know what they had. The guy traded it in for a new Jeep (ha).
What a comfy vehicle to drive!

Nah it's terrible. People will think you're driving a Highlander. Better sell it for a small loss, PM me on the side

Funny cuz I have a buddy whos wife drives a new 4 runner and he gave this LC a very quick glance last night and asked if I got new 4runner. At least he didn't say highlander.....I guess.

I was picking up a new radiator at my local Toyota dealer today and saw these side by side

Oh now I see it, I feel so stupid, the tires are both black and they both have roof racks!
That 4runner is bad ass.

yeah that's a good point. it took quite a few modification steps before people stopped calling mine a highlander. PM me as well, i'll pay $100 more than whatever @Mogwai says

funny i saw a "200" with black wheels, i'm like cool a modified 200 (none around here). I ran alongside it and realized it is a Highlander. Fooled again!

The 2016 above 200s definitely got it right setting it apart with that nice front grill.

I have never seen a new or used 200 series Land Cruiser at a Toyota dealership.
I have had more than one Toyota salesman tell me the same.

Nice score!!!

Welcome & Congrats...

Let the mods begin...

yeah we are a lucky group in Phoenix. Very heavy cruiser presence here. The service manager at our Toyota dealer owns 3 cruisers himself and is in the local cruiser club. Just in my morning routine today, 1 saw 2 200's, 1 LX570, 1 100, 1 80.

Speaking of radiators, even at 30k miles, with the age of a 2010 you might want to check the top of your radiator for this hairline crack. The general consensus is it has more to do with climate and age a than mileage, but pretty much almost everyone i know has had this happen on their 200's.

Actually I knew of this already from my homework and was one of the things I looked for when I popped the hood at the dealership but thanks any way!

Very nice find. In the world of Land Cruiser's, welcome to the dark side.

Congrats! I would have killed for that find 3 years ago. I bought mine with 100k miles. My dad thought I was crazy. My favorite years are the 2008-2010 blk/grey. I've gotten used to sliders, KO2s, Rock Warriors and some fake armour (front and rear bumper guards), wind deflectors, coilovers.

My thinking is being a 200 guy is a good thing BUT it makes it hard to appreciate other vehicles IMHO. Everything else feels second class and inferior.

The previous gen Highlanders have more than a little visual resemblance to the 200.

The large D Pillars are a fairly unique Toyota design for both vehicles, removed from the Highlander starting from the 2014 refresh. The 200 has larger D pillars than any other vehicle I can think of. That does compromise visibility, which is regained by using convex mirrors. I use these which work great. I feel that way in just one week, I'm not use to having my cake and eat it too in my DD.
