I will be working with iron for the next few weeks. Does anyone know of a good pair of ironworker boots that I should give a try?

I'm not too sure about Iron works, but I believe you can get steel toes.
I have a new 36 x 48 pole barn to house all my treasures. The concrete floor however was killing my poor feet, knees and back.
I did some research and came up with a few makers that were recommended for working on concrete floors.
At the recommendation of the shoe store owner, that actually wears this type of shoe/ boot. I bought a pair of Ariat hiking boots. Not the shoe I was looking for but low enough to make me happy.
After just a few days I can Tell you they make a world of difference.
On days that I just get lazy and wear my cheapass walmart sneakers I can sure tell I made a mistake that day.
You can find them on Amazon for a lot less than the store will sell them, but I suggest you get a proper fit and try them out first.
AND dont get sold a bigger shoe size because they dont have the width you need. Get the right size even if they have to order them.
Happy walkin

As in girder jockey iron working, or fab shop shuffling parts materials around, welding stuff...... What kinda of work are you going to be doing and with size iron..... Will determine if you need Metatarsal guards, just steel toe, in a shop/foundry or inside, or out in the field installing stuff.... I would consult your employers hand book about what PPE is required, or if your a sub, find out what the client requires with in their facility.....

I like loggers/wildland fire style boots myself for everything from shop work to field install, to kicking around at home to hiking/hunting in the back country, to the tune of 14 hours a day most of the time and as long as 42 hours on a couple of ocassions... I wear Nicks or Whites nearly 100% of the time.
