We have an IronMan event this weekend here in Coeur d'Alene and it's been great watching the parade of sweet machines on all my favorite rides. Many of the competitors have been here all week. What a great bunch, and the event is always impressive to watch from an organization standpoint.

The weather is not going to cooperate, with rain in the forecast for the event. Hope that will change in the next couple days.

Oh man. Was a great day for the race right up until a few hours ago when most were halfway through the run. Cold rain and dropping temps along with stiff wind. We got downtown at 5:50am to watch them start, then came home to regroup for a couple hours then went downtown during the rain for a couple hours. It's currently light rain and 50 degrees and my awesome wife and 8yo son just went back to cheer on the last hour of the race, all geared up with goretex, hats and high output flashlights.

Hi, Doug! My buddy Matt that I was trying to hook you up with for biking finished in just under 13 hours. Bib number 1052 if you want to look it up.

Cool! That's a nice time. I'm considering trying it in two years when I'll be 50. Hoping someone with sense will talk me out of it before then....

That's awesome. I would like to do one someday, I am afraid the swimming will do me in for sure though. I can barely do a half mile, the bike ride would be a breeze, and I could maybe suffer through the run, but the swim is certain death for me!
