It's a dealer installed package. Not Toyota installed (like the TRD and TT)

"The upgrades are covered by Toyota’s warranty and is installed at dealers from kits supplied by Halo Special Edition Vehicles located in Irvine, California. This allows for the flexibility to install the package on any Tundra, Tacoma of FJ Cruiser in stock.

In the Tundra, the package adds 123hp to the 5.7-liter V8, a useful bump from the standard 381hp. The 4.0L V6-powered Tacomas and FJs benefit from a 65 horsepower bump, now 304, as per an Automotive News report. Not all the parts need to be purchased, as buyers can opt for one or two, and not pay for the others. The supercharger seems to be the only stand-alone option, as costs for the packages range from $8,000 to $20,000."

Lol. I love how the V-6 charger is pitiful in comparison to the V-8 charger. Really, REALLY not worth it.

no that is the difference between a v8 and a v6. the charger doesnt have much to do with it

Uh, the charger as they say has EVERYTHING to do with it. The V-6 charger only gives a 65 hp bump, the V-8 charges gives a 123+ bump. It's well known that the TRD V-6 charger really isn't that power, when people with the URD-Racing one have gotten up to 100HP gains.

504 HP in the V8...32% increase...
304 HP in the V6...29% increase...

comparable IMO....

will others make more? of course....cause they aren't OEM and don't care about the warranty ;) When Toyota installs the SC on their trucks, it's a one year warranty on the SC and zero change to your factory warranty....get the aftermarket to agree to that ;)

? The HP increases are 123hp for the V-8 and 63, for the V-6 respectively. My point is simple, the V-8 charger clearly produces more horse-power than it's V-6 counter-part charger. That's all I was saying.

there is no replacement for displacement ;)

29 percent increase is a huge number. Of course the V-8 is going to produce a higher horsepower increase. It starts out with a lot more cubes to work with.

304 HP in an FJ just from a SC. Not counting any potential increase from intake, exhaust. Pretty respectable numbers in my book.

Plus, if you stick with TRD, not only is the warranty there, these things will pass an emissions test in all 50 states. (If I remember the TRD spec sheet correctly.)

If you're going for a TRD purely because of EMISSIONS, then you're not ever going to max out your engines potential. The most VITAL thing to do to the vehicle to pull ponies of of it is modify the exhaust system, and the LEGAL carb certified crap just won't cut it. If you're not willing to unbolt you're illegal performance parts and put on the stock crap (manifold etc) come emissions, then I honestly don't see a point in getting a super-charger as you clearly aren't dedicated enough to bother pulling out every ounce of HP you can get safely.

The ONLY reason I would get the TRD S\C over the URD is because the URD one produces so much power that it's known to blown rear diffs, and snap belts, the TRD is simmered down as to NOT break things. Either way, if you're going to dump 2k on a supercharger, and you're not willing to do one of the most well-known and common modifications to your engine (exhaust system) then why even bother with a s\c to begin with? Restriction is the main killer of power, all the s\c does it try to try to push more air in, and out faster, the exhaust pressure requires vital consideration as well.
