Any ideas for integrating an iPod? I have the stock CD/DVD/Nav external changer on my 02'. Denison makes a nifty product called Ice-Link that is compatible but you have to disconnect the external CD/DVD (so the Denisin product has access to the CD-changer port. )

Any Blue-Tooth ideas? Products available?

To gather some cred, I'm not just listening to tunes in the mall parking lot...it sure would have been nice to have the appropriate song from my iPod when passing over Mt. Sneffels between Ouray and Telluride, CO on the Yankee Boy Basin Trail. If ever in CO, you have to make this trek: http://www.narrowgauge.org/4x4/html/yankee.html

Thanks!

I pulled the stock unit and went with the Alpine head unit. Not a perfect solution, but sure beats adapters and cup holder devices. NO wires and the sound is remarkable.

I ordered the iCruze (but you have to loose the external disc changer). I'll post more after I install it in a couple weeks. Your 02 doesn't support Bluetooth

you can check if there are 100 series applications
ipodicruze.com

also Harmon Kardon has a kit that looks nice. Check crutchfield.com for that in the same section as iCruze

monster cable makes a nice fm signal sending unit and ipod charger in one. set it to something like 89.3 and it works great. around $80. a cheaper alternative if you have a tape deck is a cassette adapter for walk-man's for $15.

How about one of them cassette things with the wire attached to it that you plug into your iPod and then when you put it in the cassette carriage engages and the motor just runs and runs?

I'm sure that would sound pretty sweet. ;p

Alpine produces stereos that will let you controll the ipod.

They have a hard wired dock that charges the ipod as well---I think with the hard wire you will have superior music quality.

You can just get an iTrip, plug it into the top of your ipod, and listen to your tunes over the radio.

Most simple, allows you to keep your stock stereo intact without butchering anything, but may or may not sound as good depending on your car stereo's FM sound quality.

Does anyone know if a 2000 Land Cruiser stock OEM head unit has the connector for an external CD Changer? I'm interested in the Ice-Link as well and would like to know if I can plug it into the back of the stock stereo and have control of an ipod.

Thanks!

I'll answer that one! Yes, it does have provisions for a CD-Changer. I installed the Ice-Link in about 5 min, most of the time spend deciding where to put the wires. It works nice too. Unfortunately this radio doesn't have CD Text and can't display the song titles, but it plays fine and sound is superb compared to the cassette adapter.

call up crutchfield and tellem what you got and what you want to do....

I wanted to use my Sirius in my LC and put it through my speakers w/out using the FM modulator, but still use my factory CD/FM/AM unit...

They sold me this little number that allows me to hook up not only my Sirius, but i have another hook up that i can put an ipod, DVD, whatever and run it through my system.

Price of part.....$145
Cost to put it in.....$100
Cost of someone who knows their s***.....priceless
