Thanks everyone! It's nice to see so much enthusiasm. A few years ago I joined the Isuzu Trooper's Guild and could not even get an acknowledgement of my membership or find my dues check.

Anyone have any ideas about how to not have to buy the premium grade of gasoline? I had another FJ owner tell me he uses 6 ozs. of acetone as an octane booster and uses 87 octane fuel. So far no problems and 20-22 mpg combination city/hwy.

Many people use regular in their fj, but not me. Nothing but sunoco 94 for my baby.

Do these other folks have any problems you know of? What about mileage? What do you think about the 6 ozs. of acetone per tank ful?

i would not do anything irregular- just add gas. I ran the 1GR-FE for 3 yrs w/ mostly regular gas and it was more than fine. Use premium for altitude and heavy loads (like towing or lots of power needed)
