I haven't ever introduced myself so I suppose I'll do it here. My name is Will Rogers, no that's not a joke. I've been a life long Washington resident and I have always loved the outdoors and motor vehicles. I didn't start out as a truck guy but it was inevitable that my two passions would collide. I picked up an FJ Cruiser and promptly started "abusing" it offroad. A year later I'm still having a great time with what I think will be a lifelong hobby.

I live in Fife and work on BMW/Porsches/Mercedes and some other stuff for a living. It's fun.

My name is Aaron, my first car was a mustang convertible, but I wanted my dads FJ40 I finally got my way and as they say "the rest is history" MANY Cruisers and years later here I am. Many of my friends are now into Cruisers as well (8 Cruisers strong) I do ALL of my own work! Drop me a line anytime-lets wheel!

I have done everything myself- would love to chat with ya Brandon, I am about to do another 60PS on a friends 55, his will be more stockish as to location and geometry. I'm in the Spanaway/Puyallup area, drop me a line anytime-Aaron

New guy on the block

Greetings, all.

I have been laying in the weeds for awhile, and decided to come out
and say "hi".

I have owned several Land Cruisers in the past, two FJ40's, an FJ60
and a FJ62 which I sold several years ago.

I recently decided to go looking for a wagon again, and I now have another FJ60. I bought it last weekend and have been getting it in
shape. I bought it knowing it had a real bad engine oil leak (bad as in 1 qt every 100 miles).

I searched the threads and came up with an approach. Someone mentoned steam cleaning the engine and undercarriage, which I did today. I started off with the obvious place, and sure enough, the
bolts on the oilpan were very loose. I buttoned them down, and then pulled off the inspection plate for the clutch. The flywheel was
dry! So I ruled out the rear main seal.

I did an oil change and added some Berrymans seal conditioner and
will check it in the morning. I drove it 90 miles home after visiting the
farm I grew up on where my brother works. Good visit, good lunch
great big shop to work in with good tools.

If the fix works, the forum has saved me much aggravation and more than a few bucks.

Thanks for all the good info!

Tom

Hey All -

I just stumbled onto this thread and thought I'd introduce myself. I live in the Lake Tapps area (Lakeland Hills) with my wife and two little girls (2.5 and .5).

I've had a couple of 80's over the years, one is now my wife's daily driver. The addiction got the better of me about a year a go and I added a fantastic 76 FJ55 that I picked up from bull.
