When I got my 100 10 years back I did not like beige interior color. I really wanted a lighter white. I've been vinyl wrapping my other vehicles and debating to freshen/update my 100 interior, Normally I prefer a stock look. But my seats have a rip in it and debating whether to buy this beige or go full white:

If I go white I need to change headliner/etc. I don't mind if it IMPROVES look of 100. Somehow I don't think it will even though Teslas look great in white vinyl.

So new thing in the industry is putting vinyl wrap on exterior and it can be done DIY. Costs $100-$300 depending on vinyl wrap used. Totally changes color and makes a new car fresh again. Pain in the butt to learn to install but awesome way to hide paint fade, rust, etc. Same process is also able to be done on interior. In both cases its too hard to perfectly match the color. Best is to redo whole car. Now for exterior I choose simple colors black or white. For interior, there is no perfect matching beige. Car will look brand new with updated interior but not stock. Thats where my problem comes in, I dont want to look like a ricer. Just simple and classy, sophisticated would be nice. I can do alcantara headliner but dont think it would be appropriate on a 100. It costs $50-200 to change everything but pain to install. I would imagine other 100 owners like me after 20 years want to freshen interior and can afford $200 to make it like new. I haven't come across any on this board so thought to make a post. See below upholstered chair with $36 worth of material. Notice how in pictures it seems darker than 100 vinyl.

Am also not understanding this. I can see doing the hard surfaces since there is no movement but your talking about sticking some sort of vinyl wrap on the seats?

its stapled on the seats. The grey looks nicer than the beige.

I guess my basic question is: Has anyone seen a tastefully redone interior on a LX470 that did not look worse than stock?

I think you want vinyl seat covers like these.

Vinyl's is what's hanging me up here. No way I'd swap leather for vinyl just to change color. On hard parts like panels...yeah, OK sure. Paints made for interior surfaces seem like they'd work better, but I know basically nothing about the process.

Have you looked at just replacing the leather? It's 2x the cost, but...it's not vinyl. Search Result | LX470 | Ridies - https://ridies.com/Products/LX470. I don't see an option for white, but you can go the opposite way—a dark color could look really amazing in a tan interior. Plus install, of course, but if you're doing labor on vinyl it seems like that'd be a wash.

I think it was @OEMGUY0720 that changed his interior leather color with Ridies. Grey > some kind of Audi burnt orange. Of course there are other vendors for seat leather replacement.

My first question is, why vinyl over leather? There’s a reason why real authentic leather is the preferred material on seats may it be your couch at home or your vehicle.

My preferred material is leather for reasons: Comfort, experience, smell and quality. So to circle back on why vinyl, I’m actually curious.

To go back to topic, vinyl and leather has its own Pros and Cons.

I like this red interior reminds me of my 200. Redoing Leather is going to be very expensive and not last as long. I ended up ordering this for now as i always wanted cooling seats in the 100 (200 doesn't need it but would be nice to have massage feature):
