Interior Light Buttons

So I am new to the 200 series and recently purchased a new blizzard pearl LC in November. Im still getting used to where all the switches are.

Tonight we were out for karate practice and I needed to turn the interior lights on but couldn't find the switch because it was dark.

Are the buttons supposed to be back lit? Mine are not. It would make sense if you needed to use the interior lights it would be dark and they are not easily found. At least not yet anyway.
