Would you be willing to share manufacturer, part number and/or installation tips?

Heh... I accidentally posted it to the wrong place. :) Thought i was in the rear hatch light thread...

This is what I used for the 3rd row - used a little bit of 3M double sided tape and stuck it up inside the light housing. Looks like it was meant to be there. Way better than the festoon bulbs.

I only needed one, but I want to mod one into the front center since we have an unused area there and I buy a lot of vehicles and try to do LEDs in all of them. Order in bulk, keep spares on hand.

I ordered some and will give it a try. Thanks!

Wow, we finally agree on something. What on Earth is happening?

I don't get the LED fetish. I want my interior to feel cozy and inviting; not harshly lit prison cafeteria style. Aren't there LED bulbs to mimic a warmer light? The other concern I'd have is the heat emitted. LED bulbs run super hot. The housing was not designed for LED.

And now those so-called HID upgrades...

Have you ever touched the 5 watt incandescent bulb after it has been lit up for even just a couple of seconds? I can assure you that you will burn your fingers instantly. The LED equivalent runs much cooler. You can touch the LED bulb and remove it from the housing. With the stock incandescent, you have to use a rag.

Another benefit is the lower power consumption. A 5 watt 194 incandescent bulb will draw .330 amp @ 12.1 volts. A Philips 194 LED bulb draws only .060 amp @ 12.1 volts making it consume just 0.73 watts. Imagine all four of your incandescent door courtesy lights drawing 1.32 amps while it could only be pulling 0.240 amps if you had LEDs. With LED you’ll lessen the chance of running your battery dead if you leave the interior lights on.

I got these today (set of 4 for under $10). The spring loaded adapter fit better than the 31mm festoon LED I had tried first, and it comes with double sided tape installed already. It is definitely brighter and has more coverage than the small LED festoon bulb I had in there (both of which outperform the stock incandescent bulb). The lens cover was a tight fit since this mounts to the surface, not into the recess like a stock bulb. It seems to be a ton of light and a great option for the money. Thanks for the pointer.

This is the number one reason to change the bulbs to LED. Most of the interior uses 194s and you can buy a set of ten for 5-10 dollars. One of the cheapest upgrades you can do.
