Interest in Custom 80 Emblems?

I'll attach it to MUD. Photo is hosted on Flickr, most work networks block photo hosting sites. Yeah this one is sitting flat against the bumper held on with double-sided tape...

I can see it now. It looks good. It also looks like you like gold. I will be doing a custom print for another member with black and gold badges. I should have a little filament left over to make a couple more black/gold badges. Let me know if you would be interested. It would be a black emblem with the champagne/gold letters.

I installed mine today, the fit was perfect.

That sounds really cool! I think I may be interested. Do you have photos of the gold color yet? What's pricing look like?

I do not have the gold in my hands yet. Once I get the gold prints all done I will take and post some pics.

Thanks, looks great! But it made me realize haw bad I need to paint my grill.

Brad, I can't tell you how excited I am about this. The white really has a lot better contrast than the grey. Love the way this turned out, and appreciate all the time it took for you to get these just right.

Also check out my neigbor's 62. He never drives it!

I'm glad it worked out. For those of you wondering if the "TOYOTA" badges are for sell; the answer is, not yet. Jason helped me out with this project so I sent him a prototype. These will be going into production very soon and will be on my ETSY page within the next couple weeks. I just have to figure out a couple tolerance issues first to account for people who painted their grilles with thick heavy coats. Jason's first emblem wasn't fitting. Without intention, he got to be my guinea pig. I made the tolerances VERY tight but didn't account for the extra paint so we had to go with an older prototype with looser tolerances. I just need to find that middle ground where it's a good fit on a painted or non-painted grille.

For those of you who may not go back a page; here is a post from yesterday that I want to bring to the top one more time:

I need an update from you guys. I have now shipped all open orders and have fully restocked all of my TEQ emblem options. For the first time in a long time my printer is resting. I need to know who is planning on buying a TEQ badge in the near or distant future. Either post on my for sell thread (https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/teq-emblems-finally-ready-to-sell.802659/) or shoot me a PM if you want to buy a TEQ badge. You dont' have to commit to anything. I just need to know if I have roughly enough in stock to meet those orders. If I do, then I can now shift my focus to the "80" and "TOYOTA" grille emblems. It will take me a couple weeks to get a perfect print file set up and a good batch of each made.

I just ordered a black and grey FZJ80 badge but am considering going red on red (my truck is red), if I decide after receiving the black would that be too late?

thanks for the amazing work!

J

Any plans on doing the FJ60 style font? I'd be interested in one of those!

Thanks.

I definitely would like to get my hands on the flat black and white teq logo. But i'm in Oz and you don't having shipping costs outside of US or Canada on the etsy page. would you consider that? could you give me a ballpark estimate? Also what happened to the 80 series logos? I liked the look of the red one you posted way back at the start of this thread, I was considering mounting on the grille next to the T O Y O T A wording like you have done with the teq. BTW I have a 1990 FJ80 grille

Not sure what that looks like. Can you post a picture of that font?

It's lettering is just thicker and closer together. I like it better than the 80 series "Toyota".

Thanks!

I already designed something very similar, but didn't get a ton of interest. It seemed most guys wanted the FJ40 font. It will be added into the list eventually. I'm just going down the list using popularity as my guide. Here is the design. It will probably get a little more detail in the background like the FJ40 font did.

just installed my new emblem and I have to say great quality and perfect fit. Thanks for the R&D that went into this product. I gave you a shout out on Instagram. Keep up the good work.

That's perfect. If you ever make these I'll be the first one in line to buy.

Thanks again.

They will definitely get made. It's the timing that I'm unsure of. As I release new designs I will continue to update this thread, the for sell thread, and my ETSY page.

Update time: I got the next badge ready to go. I'm not sure this will be a popular one, but I had enough interest to at least do one batch of 6. I will do another batch if needed. I will only be offering them in the two color combos. They are already on my etsy page and ready to ship out. This is a rear hatch TEQ emblem that can fit on any year 80 series. It can replace the factory "sombrero" or the "L" OR it can be placed off center (leaving the factory emblem). It can slide left or right as far as you want but not up or down. The new emblem is curved on the back which matches the curvature of the rear hatch at that specific elevation on the door. I didn't add the factory "tabs" to this so it could be mounted in numerous locations AND on an LX or YOTA. The factory tabs were super tiny and pretty much useless. The install instructions and more info is on my ETSY page. Here's some pics.
