Greetings 2UZ gurus!
I am planning to fix a coolant leak at the lower intake manifold gasket. While I'm there I will also swap out the SAIS filter (thanks to @Vlad and Lexus GX460 Secondary Air Intake Pump mod = "The Uni-Mod"). Now, the truck has 121k miles on it, so I'm due for new spark plugs. Maybe PCV valve (at least clean it with carb cleaner). Now I'm thinking, what other preventative maintenance can I do while everything's apart? I am not planning to replace the starter just yet, although its tempting...
Now to the point of my post. What about the intake manifold? I know 2UZ is not a GDI engine, so carbon buildup should not be as big of an issue. Still, does it need cleaning with a brush and solvent/degreaser, or is it pointless?
Your advice on this matter is much appreciated.
I will update you with documentation of my experience on this journey to fix the coolant leak by replacing the intake manifold gasket.
