Howdy All- I've been on the hunt for some decent insurance for the 60...I've got USAA, but they'll only cover the cruiser as a stock 84' with 210K which makes it worth about...well you know...

Just curious if anyone out there has cracked the code on this issue...I've looked all over MUD and called all the major providers...Progressive, State Farm, Hagarty, Farmers, etc...and I've come up with pretty much notta...just wondered if anyone has been successful in tracking down the mythical "Agree Value" policy and if so, can you point me to your Agent...I'm getting tired of the "we've never heard of that, but we'll call you back" routine...

I had usaa on my 80. They pulled comps from several sources although some of them weren't really what I would consider comps. They did increase the amount by about $800 for my front ARB bumper. I'm guessing they would have done the same for the other bumper, sliders, and skids, but I took all that off. They valued the lift kit at something ridiculous like $40. I essentially got hit for about $1000-$1500 off of what a true replacement would have cost. That's not great, but it isn't terrible. You can argue with them and they don't stick to NADA guides. You can be as careful as want, just hope nobody hits you.

Thanks...that's my fear exactly...like you said- you can be as careful as you can be, but it just takes one jacka$$ to hit you and you're out of luck...

Hagerty should do it but have lots of limitations and probably wont cover a 4x4 vehicle if its used off road.

I found a company to insure a rock crawler a few years ago for a customer but dont remember who it was.

my best advice is to document and keep receipts. it is possible to argue values at time of loss.
