Has anyone installed a temperature gauge to an A442F transmission to monitor fluid temps? If so, can you provide some insight into the process and recommend a gauge? Thanks.

Not a ton of help as I haven't done the work yet. Waiting until my next trans fluid drain/fill. Just gathered parts... went with a new tapped fitting from Radd Cruiser dude then just an Autometer gauge with short sweep sender.

Thanks, Guy. Would the gauge come with the temp sensor or would I need to buy a sensor separately? So I'll need the fitting, the temp sensor, and the gauge?

Probably depends on what gauges you go with. In my case it was sold separate and I stayed with AutoMeter so it matched a previous owner installed gauge.
looks like the wholesale automatics one from Australia, I have put it in my 80
I'd also advise getting the converter lock up kit as well

Just did this on mine not that long ago, we dropped the pan, welded a bung and threaded the sensor there. Routing everything was pretty straight forward from there. I used the Glowshift transmission gauge, that one came with the sensor.
