Disassembly of the Differential Case
1. Remove the ring gear if it interferes with the removal of
the pinion shaft. It may need to be tapped off with a brass
mallet. Mark it so that it can be re-installed in the same
otational orientation as when removed. Note: if the pinion
shaft can be slid out past the ring gear teeth, the ring gear
does not need to be removed.
