When that happens to me on occasion, I have found that I have to get up and break the cycle of just laying there and letting the thoughts of the day or work keep bouncing around and keeping me awake.

If I get up and have a small bowl of cereal and read the paper in the kitchen, I can go back to bed and sleep. I think the carbs and the mental "reset" works for me.

I have learned not to lay there tossing for 2 hours, then go do it - my time threshold is much shorter now. Thankfully it doesnt happen too often!
 
Costco sleep aid, melatonin and if all else fails the wonder drug ambiem.. Took some ambien one time and was talking with a buddy of mine on the phone - fell asleep during the conversation - lol - the stuff works good
 
This cracks me up - lol - - - - For as many times I wake up through out the night and then can't seem to fall back to sleep right away I would be having posts on this thread evey 2 hrs.
