My truck (2000) just passed 80,000mi last week. I was wondering what list members thought about fuel injector cleaning /testing such as by RC Engineering, and at what mileage interval that should take place. Being in the right place at the right time, I picked up a second set of injectors real cheap so I can avoid any down time while the originals are out for cleaning.

I like to run a bottle of Redline Fuel System Cleaner through my gas tank once or twice a year. Not only have my injectors worked well with such a practice, it gets the gas tank and lines cleaned up. I have run many vehicles well over 100K miles and never replaced an injector in the ones I have treated with Redline.

Just run the Toyota recommended "top tier" fuel and your injectors will be fine for 200K+ miles. I would mess with injector cleaners or extra injectors unless you are having a problem. Never heard of a LC/LX owner having injector problems. www.toptiergas.com

Are the spare injectors OEM?

that's the first I've heard of the" top tier" stuff... fortunately, I buy most of my gas at a Shell station.
