Injection pump (1 Viewer)

Anybody got an idea as to how long my injection pump on 1984 BJ60 is likely to last?

Also anybody know about the service procedure that has you drop a few drops of leather oil into a service access hole in the top of the injection pump?

I want to keep this thing running good.

How many miles? Do you have problem to motivate that question?
Concerning leather oil, I never heard about that.

No real reason to ask the question it's just that I see BJ machines for sale and the guys note that the pump has been rebuilt or replaced and I get a little worried cause I know that will be expensive.

I agree with the preceeding. Very reliable.
My brother had a '85 (about) BJ-70. That engine runs like a tractor. I would change my 2F for a 3B anytime.
The only thing, that the injection pump is sensible, is water. You may immerse the engine and it's still running but you have to keep water out of the fuel line (and the air intake :nono You have to bleed the water-fuel separator periodically (upon fuel supplier quality)
By the way, this engine is frequently implemented in industrial vehicules.
