The governor on my 2L is so aggressive when I downshift to get up a hill my foot basically has to go to the floor just to hold 2700RPM and it’s making the truck feel weaker then it is. I’m looking at my spare pump and I see this adjuster that looks like it adjusts the preload of the governor weights.

Does anyone have any knowledge on the adjustability of this? The way it sits, I would have to pull the pump to get a hex wrench on it.

I know the Cummins rotary pumps have lots of aftermarket governor springs you can get, would any of those work since the pumps are literally the same? I’m just trying to think of ways to reduce the governor strength.
