I'm getting up to speed on the GX470. What's your favorite information service? Someone mentioned a set of d/l'able documents for a 2 day subscription of around $20, but the link got away on me (getting old, I guess). I'm aware of http://www.alldatadiy.com/buy/index.html as many people's goto, but as the alldata is 2.5x that, I would like to locate the other service for another look.

Bonus points question: what is the part number (or name) of the electric module that sits on top of the front OEM shock? I've yet to see anyone call it the same name twice.
Thanks!

I downloaded the factory service manual, FSM, for a 2005 gx off the gxor Facebook page(I had to create a fb account) . I tried the TIS 2 day subscription but I had problems with the site and wasn't able to use it. I've also tried Chilton online, it was about $20 for a year subscription, it was OK but the FSM is my goto, definitely the most detailed. I have a 2006 but thought a fsm for a year older truck wouldn't be that different for what I need it for. I've also seen the fsm for sale on ebay for as low as $300

I also downloaded the GXOR Facebook FMS for a GX. I am not sure if it was for an 05 or 06 but it is for the VVTI engine GX and it is thorough. I highly suggest that any enthusiast of these cars or DIYers download it for their personal use.

The 2 day subscription for $20 is from the Toyota technical information service website here. Be forewarned it isn’t 48 hours. It’s by the actual date. So if you buy it at 10PM, like me, you get 2 hours that night and then 24 hours the next day.

it took me about 8 hours to download it section by section. You can’t download entire chapters or anything like that. If you’re comfortable coding, you can’t use beautifulsoup / selenium to try and automate the download process. They make you work for it to download the entire thing.

lol... I ran into that. Wasn't aware it was a policy, and gave them bloody hell. Their mesaging was errors instead of subscription notifications. I fanmailed all their emails because they were't clear who was responsible. After a bunch of window/door slamming, they comped me another day or two. Welcome customer service & the digital world TTIS!
