Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA and still cruiserless for a few months. Long story short, I have 3 months of grad school left, getting married, selling two houses and moving to.... southern Indiana or northern Kentucky.

Luke, you remember I told you Nibco was interested in me? I interviewed in Elkhart last Friday. Sorry I didn't call you up, but I drove up Friday morning and drove back after the interview was over. They offered me a job 2 days ago at their plant in Charlestown, IN. Anybody live down that way? My fiancee and I will be headed down there next weekend to scout around and check the area out. I'm still negotiating specifics on the offer but we're going to take it with a start date of 1 July. Trying to figure out if it's worth it to stay on the Indiana side or live in Louisville and commute 20 miles. I'd appreciate any input folks have on the area!

There's a very nice state park there, I know that for sure! :) I would also bet housing is much cheaper there (and more readily available) than in Louisville. Given the cost of fuel I would think you'd wanna live closer to work and drive to Louisville for fun. Or get the best of both and live in Jeffersonville, IN right across the river from Louisville. Either way, from driving through the area it's a nice place to be.

I was hoping Jeffersonville would be a nice town to live in. I agree that living as close as I can to work would be nice, but Jessie's an architect and likely to find a job in Louisville proper. So I'm probably going to be the one making the commute each day, but it seems like the housing and tax burden and everything overall is cheaper on the Indiana side.

Good to hear from ya Travis. Good luck with the job/move.

No worries Travis- I was actually out of town last Friday looking at some solar panels we're thinking of taking on.

Ps. If you're going to work for them, its NIBCO. Northern Indiana Brass COmpany. :)

Thanks for the advice Luke. They gave me a book on the company's history that I'm sure would have mentioned it, but I haven't read that far yet.

And I officially accepted their job offer yesterday. So I will be working for them beginning in July. It's exciting- I like that company.
