Trev,
If there is quite a few folks doing the trails I think just getting Liberty OR Patriot done would be a huge achievement! The trails are narrow and the trail gets constipated with broken rigs early in the day. I suggest camping down there that way you can hit the trails early and if the trails are plugged all day it wont matter. We would go on a weekday and do the "Cap'n Loop." (named after Cap'n Crunch) Go in backwards on Liberty and come out on Patriot. Little over a half mile of rocks and it will take a huge chunck of the day if no traffic and no major breaks. Whatever you choose get there early enough to walk the system first! It's not uncommon to find a badly broken rig hiding in Liberty while it's driver is getting parts/waiting for parts/or clueless! Also, it will be hot as blazes in the washes and the bugs will be very hungry! Screw the snakes as they are scared of the bugs! ;)

Put the Mods off on Wild Rice and come down! Or you could always put some scratches on Rice cake, 2 guys in our club talked about trying to drag their 80's through there!

 yea id rather wait on broken trucks than wrench on mine, but its all part of the fun!

This is on a Holiday, but its mid week, so i hope its kinda quiet, i guess we will figure it out once we know how many rigs show, and go from there..

Not what Rice Cake (Crispies) is for! An 80 should work (for sure on Liberty) but if they are worried about sheet metal damage then they probably should think about it some more! I'm totally serious about walking it first! It won't take very long, you'll see more things as your not focusing on driving and you'll pick some lines out before hand! You'll also appreciate the size of the rocks you're about to try and drive over!:cheers::popcorn::beer:

yea id like to walk the whole trail first.. Ive walked portions of it, but not liberty or Patriot..

Those rocks are F'n Huge.. so whos in? Andy? David? Tim?

should we post up a message on the Rising Sun board, or Colo4x4 to get some interest, or is this a trail better off with just our small group?

I'm hoping to have some tires on the trailer by then. Man they're expensive.:crybaby:
I guess I'm up for Liberty. That waterfall really freaks me out!

I wouldn't mind meeting some of the Rising Sun guys if you want to invite them. I'm going to tell a few of my friends about it but I'm sure they'll chicken out...:o

Where are we meeting by the way? The website says the Western on Hwy 24 but that doesn't make any sence. Should we just meet at the trail head around 8:30am?

I will be there. (as long as I spend all the $$$$$$ I need to before I get caught by the Mrs)
I usually do Patriot, then Liberty, then if not too many people are there, drop in the exit of Patriot and see what happens.
Haven't done it since we were loaded up leaving Colorado in 01 and on the way out unpacked it, unloaded and did it while the family waited for me, then we headed to Ky.
Cruiser hasn't done a trail since the Badlands in Indiana in 01.
I am definately excited about it!

Oops! I blew up my rear end today on Eagle Rock, of all things! Actually, I lost a tooth a couple of weekends ago on Carnage, and I just finished it off today on Eagle Rock. I'll be ordering a new ring and pinion tomorrow, and hope to get my third member all set up and my rear end back together before the 4th of July. I'll keep you up to date.

 If you knew you had tossed a tooth why would you take it to another trail before fixing it?

It's a TOYOTA!
Hell, I went a whole year once with a tooth missing from the ring gear. Just not this time...:frown:

I pulled it apart today and found at total of 7 missing teeth all from the ring and none from the pinion.

I just got off the phone with Marlin. Hope the parts get here soon. I don't want to miss Indy!:grinpimp:

Sooo,, Im moving next weekend, and i did not have time to put in a cage before this trip.. I may have some 37's by then, but i dont know if its a good idea with my Stock roll bar... What do you guys think?

Even with my stock bar and front kit, I still get worried.
I wouldn't try it without at least a front kit.
Not worth it.

Might want to avoit the exit of Patriot. Other than that the only risk of going over is Bunker Hill. We can strap you there.;)

I didn't want to do Patriot anyway. Liberty is about all the fun I can handle for one day.:)

Hmm.. ok, i may be willing to run Liberty and Indy, but may stay clear of patriot for this trip..

Im fine with just running what im comfortable with, then i can always exit out freedom if i feel sketchy about it!

What would you like to run Nanuk??

Whatever everyone else want to.
Usually Patriot then Liberty, but we can do it the other way or ??????
It has been 6 years!!!!
