Toasted my motor mount in the 40 last Monday and I'm wondering if anyone around here happens to have one lying around for a decent price. I hate the damned things but don't really want to swap them out for a decent custom setup at least until after April. You know, the whole "Bman tears something down for a simple fix and his truck don't see rocks for 8 months" thing.

Sorry to hear.....I agree though, AA makes mostly crap. I'm not all that impressed with the Atlas. It has an "unbreakable" reputation, but the fact that it leaks and is better described as "unshiftable" is closer to the truth.

I just wish someone like Marlin would come up with something gear driven, strong as the Atlas, about the same weight and f/r drive WITH top shift. They wouldn't be able to build 'em fast enough.

I jimmy rigged it about 2 years ago and finally had a failure so I might just go back to the rigged setup and see how long it lasts.

Anyone know of a polyurethane connection in town where I might be able to buy some poly rod stock? I could use that to rig something up that might last a little longer than my last rig job.

Try Port Plastics in Chandler. What size do you need?

Don't the AA mounts use the standard "cage" bushings (ones that fit 1.5" ID and 1.25" ID)? If so, you can get the bushings at 4Wheelers Supply.

HTH,

Not 100% sure what they looked like new but I thought they were a kinda rubber donut about 2.5" od with a hole in the center and a big flat washer on one side.

What engine are you running in the 40 again?

Small block.

That's what I thought...SBC 350. Hmmm....don't know what kind of mount you've got there. Sorry I'm no help.
