...and would gladly take any suggestions for dining etc. Also, is there anyone here I may pay for membership whilst I am here? I am staying at the Marriot, and will be in town until Friday evening. Thanks!

Anyone who could accept your membership dues is in Moab right now I believe.
As for dining, what are you into?

I'm staying at the Marriot next to Mesa Amphitheater. As far as food, anything goes, really, just looking for something relatively close. Thanks!

For food,

I would go to Rosa's which is on Mesa Drive and University about 500 yards east of where you are staying.

Even better go to the new Rosa's on Lindsey and McKellips, which is about 5 miles away. I think they get best of Phoenix for thier salmon and shrimp tacos.

There is also a place on Main and about Center, about 2 miles from you called Mangos, which is also really good.

There is a Petes Fish n' Chips on Mesa Drive and Main but I don't really like them, if you want good fish n' Chips I would go to Sulivans on Gilbert and Main.

Thanks for all the replies! Schedule permitting, I'll try to hit a couple tomorrow.

for fish-n-chips i like knock kneed lobster and george and dragon.
for something a little different try cafe lallibella in tempe, awsome.

I second the New Rosas, on Mckellips between lindsey and val vista. I highly recommend the Salmon Taco with Mango salsa and the Shrimp Taco with Pineapple Salsa.

Mangos on Main is my next favorite.

So is Rosas the ginormous compound I've heard about with a sit down room, a takeout joint, the bakery/market, and whatnot? I've heard the only thing bad about it's the line to get in..

Let's all get together for Ethiopian food, or maybe Vietnamese some weekend? :)

GEORGE AND DRAGONS FOOD IS CRAP, and the owner's a weasel.

Yes, and it is pain to get into the main place. But the small take out place is usually ok. And there are some seats in there, so it is not just take out.

Good luck finding a parking spot though.

The shrimp taco makes it all worth it.

It is actually called "Sulivans Pier" on gilbert and they are related to Knock Kneed. In fact on Knock Kneed's menus they state that they are a Sulivan family restaurant. Same food both are good. I have only been to george and dragon once and got their shepderd pie. I will try thiers sometime.

cheesecake factory has a good sheperds pie (the only thing i've tried there), and claim jumper has a great pot roast.

For real simple Mexican foods call Burrito Express. It is not fancy. Run by a Mexican family of long standing here. They deliver to you. Chili sauce is hot and the better sauce will curl your hair and your toenails! Food style is simple Mexican fare the traditional way. The owner is a family man who often delivers your dinner personally. His daughter is a cute kitten who may also bring your dinner to your door. They are a great family with good, simple food brought to you. Look them up!

OH! Another one. Try Grandma's kitchen in downtown. 19 N Robson. A decent breakfast or lunch at a low price. It's like going to your grandma's house. She'll feed you well and she might scold you for not folding up the newspaper when you finish with it. Donna has been able to have a great home-like environment for several years and has had the same group of employees for all of that time. She has just moved to this location and it is great. It's very open and roomy with inside seats and a sidewalk cafe. When you drop in, tell her that I said hello.
