Hey Fellow Ontarians,

I'm looking to import a 1985 Toyota pickup 4x4 reg cab 22r from the Southern United States.

I was told by a moderator that I should post something in the clubhouse to look for advice.

The truck I'm looking at is lifted and has larger tires.
I'm waiting for a reply from the seller to ask how it was lifted and what size tires.

Is it true that I can not import this vehicle in to Ontario?

I messaged the Transport Canada and RIV asking if I can bring it in, and they both sent back standard pre-written replies about how if the vehicle is 15 years of age or older the car us "un-regulated."
But no clear reply saying a lifted vehicle is importable.

Does anyone have advice or experience with this situation?

Thanks so much!
Happy Holidays!!

Cheers,
Kevin H.

What do you mean by lifted? Be a good idea to buy a cheap set of 'rollers' stock size with
the big tires just sitting in the box. Can't do any more than charge taxes on purchase price
on used tires. Just make sure all your receipts are clear and backed up.
I just posted a site on another guy from Ontario with link to Transport Canada. Same club page
