I currently am living in the Dominican Republic until next July. I'm from eastern NC and will be moving back next summer! I found this beautiful BJ70(I think)! It's a '91(I think) so it would just about reach the classic age. I am toying with the idea of buying it here and then importing it when I move back. Does any body have any experience or knowledge about importing and registering it in NC?

Thanks for any help even though II don't quite belong (only currently trying to be)!

All I'm aware of is that it needs to be 25 years old or older. @Siflersmom should know more about the importation process, or what company to use to import.

I'd like to visit, find its cousin '70 and then fill it up with cigars and rum and ship it with yours. :) Welcome back to NC!

My SIL is Dominican and we visited Puerto Plata last summer. I'm no help w/ the importation, but that's one dope Cruiser. What part of E NC are you from? My wife (Emily) is from New Bern and her parents live in MHC now. We have a few "down easters" here - including the class clown @custyota

I'm Greenville and headed back that way once next summer hits! I've got bad news though... Just drove by the dealer and it was already gone... These 70's sell like hot cakes around here! Still interested to know about the process though because they are always selling these around town.

no restrictions on something that is over 25 years..... if that thing had a helicopter motor in it you could still import it.
