1988 pickup, 22re, 20k on rebuild.
Hey all,
Doing my bi-annual smog on the truck and I am having an issue with setting timing. Following procedure in the FSM(IG15, steps 3/4).
When I jump T and E1,I get the light on the dash, I set base to 5*, pull jumper and timing doesnt advance to 12*
I am using an Innova light. I have checked the TPS, it is good. I checked my vacum hoses, all seem good. I wiggle wires going to TPS, no changes.
I have been driving the rebuild without trouble, it has smogged several times with no issues.
I did a search and turned up a couple old threads, with no resolution to the problem.
Any thoughts or direction is appreciated.
