Hi All,

I usually post on the 70s forum, but as my RJ77 has a 22r engine and I beleive they were common in the trucks I thought I would put this question on over here. I attach a piture of the engine.

My 22r is an internation version and although from 1992 it has a points distributor. I would like to get a distributor cap, rotor, points, condenser and perhaps some plug wires. The problem is that I am in Mongolia where this engine is rare and can't find these parts local. I am wondering if the 22r in the US or Canada ever had the points distributor and where I could order the parts mentioned above.

Another questions is about the flap in the air intake system that regulates whether the air is drawn from down by the exhaust manifold or directly from outside. Mine does not seem to be working. I replaced a cracked vacum hose by no result. Is this a common problem if the car has been sitting and is it ok to jam it closed in the winter and open it in the spring?

Thanks in advance

I would get ahold of CruiserDan about the parts, he works for a Toyota dealership, and gives Mud Members a good discount. I have no idea what shipping to Mongolia would be though. :D Here's how to get a hold of him:

You may as well get the flap valve thing too if you're going to make an order. I don't know if jamming it open or closed would hurt anything, but it is suposed to be able to open and close as the engine temp changes.
