Ok Guys,

I believe I'm having igniter/coil issues and wanted to see if anyone had a step by step guid to determining exactly where my problem is.

The PO put in a Accel Performance Control Module 35361, which from my research, is not made for a 79 toyota pickup.

I have intermittent starting issues, which are temporarily solved (truck gets running) when I re-adjust the electrical lines running to the 4 terminals on the igniter. (Picture below)

I have yet to test via volt meter, and was hoping for some guidance.

Thanks,

Isn't that Accel part intended for a Chevy HEI distributor? I remember a write up of it being used on Toyota's but can't find the write up. Maybe someone else can chime in .

Ok guys,

I found the write up that must have been used by the PO.

I started from scratch and realized that all I needed was a new ignition control module $23 (See write up).

My 79 Hilux starting problems have been solved.

Please let me know if anyone has questions.
