Took the old 80 up to Idyllwild camping with the little guy this weekend.
Went up Thomas Mountain Rd (6S13) to the top. Camped at the yellow post sites (Site#2). Road was a nice cruise to the top, nothing crazy, but the 80 motored right along with no issues. Climbed a couple steep hills that I thought would maybe cause it to spin a little and work, nope. Just crawled right up no problem. Very pleased with it. The little guy loved it and wants to go back. Fun trip, gonna go back in a few weeks. If anyone hasn't done 6S13, super easy fire road trail, with lots of others trails and roads going off of it up in the hills.

We are thinking probably sometime in June when we have an open weekend May is busy with graduations, I'm thinking second weekend of June, around there sometime, I will let you know!

Looked like fun. I've never explored that area. I would be up for a trip out that way. I have to wait until after my son's wedding at the end of the month before i do anything.

If you got a little one with you then check out San Jacinto Ridge truck trail. There is a stream/waterfall at the halfway point.

If you are looking for more challenge then hit 4S21 which you can access off San Jacinto Ridge. But be prepared. I ran it this past weekend and it is heavily rutted out and challenging.
