Does anyone know what the ideal idle speed is for a 350? Mine seems to shimmy awful bad unless I adjust it up to about 900 – 1000 rpm. Am I wrong or is that a bit high?

Thanks!

Brad

Depending on what it was in and what year, 650 - 750 is normal.
If it's not idling smoothly below 1000, check your idle mixture. Check for vacuum leaks.
And if those aren't it, check your timing.

Thanks! Being new to Carburation, anybody nowhere I can find a primer on Quadrajet care and feeding? Hopefully on the net.

Thanks again!

Brad

Quadrajets are voodoo.
Anyone who knows how to properly set one up is worth his weight in new, OEM smog pumps.
But Google for "Rochester QuadraJet manual" and get this as the first hit:

Other's doubtless exist.
Good luck.
