Wanted Idle Damper - Diesel Injector Pump

On my 80 series 1HD-T I have a leak from the idle damper (see attached image borrowed from another thread), I haven't been successful in finding a replacement (part number 2218017150) and have heard its possible to blank off, has anyone had experience with this?

Megazip have it for $43.00 USD. Cant it be fixed? I would ask an diesel injection workshop. Im not sure about blanking it off, its there for a purpose
