I had been pretty set on the Vector 5 wheels for my LC200, but then I saw a Dissent Offroad build on an LX600 with the SLX wheels and it completely changed my mind. Since I hadn't seen any other LC200s with them, I decided to take a chance. I went with the 17-inch SLX wheels with a 25mm offset and wrapped them in 285/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires in SL. I also had the dealership install the OEM spring spacers. So far, I couldn't be happier with the look and the ride quality.

Just mounted this exact same setup, love the look! Have you had any issues with rubbing? I've got a bit of rubbing at full lock in reverse.

Any concerns with the +25mm offset? I see mixed feedback on here.

@gomar @carcetti4mayor

What is your front caliper clearance and have you had any wheel balance weight contact?

I ask because I’m running 17” Icon Rebound Pro’s and they are pretty dang tight with the wheel weights on the front. I’ve had the balance tech move the weights closer to the inner portion of the rim but I’ve had some slight contact from time to time.

@Artie it's funny you ask, I literally just figured out that the clicking driving me insane was the wheel balance weight contacting the caliper on the front passenger tire. I'm going to discount tire tomorrow morning to see if they can correct it.

A heat gun and some massaging of the liner will solve this.

Idk about your wheel model but on mine the gap is a hairs width between the weight and the caliper… it’s really tight. My local Discount is pretty accommodating and honored my request to move the weights out. I carry my wheels to them so maybe that’s why, less fuss than way. I have one particular tire that requires a bunch of weight and I think I’m going to ask them to break the bead and rotate that tire on the rim. You can see in the pic below the space where there aren’t weights is where the caliper lies. On these wheels thy taper up right there cutting clearance just enough to be annoying.

Perhaps you would find this page from the Toyota Installation Guide for the 17" TRD Alloy Wheels (Rock Warriors) helpful:

Not only does it specify the use of clip-on weights (instead of stick-on weights) for the inner weights, it also specifies a maximum allowable weight of 200 grams - it appears you have 8.25 oz. of weights which equals roughly 234 grams which would be more than allowed.

For reference, here's a link to the entire Installation Guide: Toyota TRD 17" Wheel Guide

Holy cow I wish I had this when I did this last balance. My gut was telling me this was excessive but I figured the tire monkey had to know more than I did. I need to find a tire expert to replace the tire monkey.

Do you reckon shifting the tire on the wheel could help?

I’m about to rotate in the near future and that crazy weighted wheel is due to go on the road so I want to address this before hand.
