Nice!

Great video. Did you guys notice the blurb about the 4.6 producing more torque in the lower RPM band than the 5.7?

when he was talking about turning off the airbags, is he talking about the same switch we have here to turn of the airbags in the US???

super cool vid by the way!!!

Official figures from the GCC Spec LC brochure ( keep in mind our 5.7 makes less hp and torque than the US version )

GCC Spec
5.7 ( 362 hp @ 5600rpm - 530nm @ 3200 rpm )

4.6 ( 304 hp @ 5500rpm - 439nm @ 3400 rpm )

US 5.7 ( LC )

5.7 ( 381hp @ 5600 rpm - 544nm @ 4400 rpm )

5.7 LC = final gear ratio 3.9

4.6 LC = final gear ratio 4.3

This is what i was referring to when i preferred the 4.6 over the 5.7, i like the torque delivery more. Notice how the curve is more linear than the 5.7

Do you have a pic of the 5.7 chart ? Did you drive the 5.7 out in the dunes as well

I don't have the 5.7 curve but i have driven it out on the dunes, as far as i have felt it needs some run up to keep it in the power band but if the revs drop too much then it will bog. The 4.6 just maintains its rpm even under load, it sits happily at 4000rpm charging up hill.

"Best kind of disease" ......... well said.. !!!

Btw please make your own YouTube channel and talk about off roading and cool LC things. I really enjoyed this video.

The stock factory curves for both UR engines are fairly close in shape, but the 5.7 makes roughly 50 - 70 ft/lbs more throughout the whole curve. The 4.30 gears and tuning are probably a big help for the 4.6… which is no slouch. If you want a little more power from that 4.6, look into replacing the stock exhaust manifolds, they are horrible compared to the units on the 5.7.

Great video. Really well done.
Thanks for posting it.

So based on this the 5.7 would out perform the 4.6. But as the poster indicated for dune running the 4.6 with his gearing work best for him. Nothing beats personal use and knowledge. Things can look better on paper but perform worse in application.

I'm glad everyone likes the video but I can not take credit for it; you guys do know the "Drive" channel is motor trend backed on you tube. I wish I had those editing skills. :)
