So I bought a boost controller off ebay, but I can't figure out how the thing works.

I hooked it up 2 ways and I still can't get more than 11psi boost (wastegate shimmed) on my 87 JDM BJ74. Tried on very steep hills.

The kit came with a boost controller and a T-valve, but I blew through the valve and air only comes in/out the silver and red, not silver to silver.

First I hooked up the Tvalve - the ports that worked, to the boost controller, and the other nipple to atmosphere.

Then I just hooked up the controller, still to no avail.

The writing on the stickers say "Arrow points to wastegate actuator"

So I disconnected it and I'm back to just my boost gauge and shims -Pyro getting installed this week.

Anyone know how to hook it up?

I haven't tried that while my gauge is installed. Should I disconnect the tube on the top by the turbo or the bottom by the wastegate?

You can disconnect the end at the waste gate and plug it. Then your gauge should still work. Just dont go crazy with the pedal :D

What is that white hose/pipe what comes from that wastegate line?
That boost control system drop pressure from that hose so example if it is boost pressure gauge it doesn't tell true pressure.

It may also make a difference what side of the boost controller you plumb your gauge in, on side will only show the pressure that the waste gate is getting, the other side will show what the intake pressure is getting.

kbushnz, thanks for the diagram. Come to think of it the pressure readings wouldn't be proper with the boost gauge after the controller - yes the white hose goes to the boost guage. I will plumb to the specs in that turbosmart pdf and swap the location of the gauge and controller.

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks a bunch.
