Can anyone give me a hand? My (DD) truck has been in the middle or my garage on jackstands going on three weeks. What started out as a front brake job, became a wheel bearing replacement, axle rebuild turned into birf replacement.

My next door mechanic neighbor has been helping me out with skills and tools. I have neither. Actually he has been doing most of the wrenching and I have been doing to grunt work and cleaning. We have the drivers side done. A mix up with Slee caused the repalcement birf I ordered not to arrive last Friday. My neighbor leaves today for the Baja 250 and wont be back till next week.

We are 3/4th done with the project. All the prep work is done. I am just waiting for the birf to arrive from Slee today or tommorow. I need to change over the new birf to the axle. Im not sure how to. Everything else is ready to go back together. I lack the tools or knowledge to try this on my own.

Can anyone give me a hand? I'm in paramedic school and working nights full time. I really need to get this truck rolling again. I'm flexible with any weeknight or weekends.

If anyone can help me out PM me or my cell is 623-451-6969. Im located where the 303 ends and Happy Valley. Keith

Do you have the fsm? If so I may be able to help. I have tools as well.

I dont have the FSM We just used the FAQ write up. It was pretty clear

Well. I have been wrenching for 15+ years and have never delved into this project, but I'm game. Depending on ur schedule, I am available this week.

Here is the link to the FAQ https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/78276-front-axle-rebuild-faq.html

My birf is schedueld to arrive today. I will be picking up the 54mm nut I need from Bell Toyota after school tomorrow. I should have everything ready to go by tomorrow eveaning.

I just cant firgure out how to remove the old birf from the axle and seat the new one.

I estimate once I have everything, it shouldn't take more than two hours to reinstall the passenger side.

I apologise man. I had to go rescue a friend day after i said I could help. His Heep got stuck up to the middle of the doors in the river over back Table mesa area. It was hilarious to say the least. Best part was trudging thru the same muck he was stuck in flawlessly after pullin him out. Did you get it together.

Gordo No worries I'm stuck waiting for more parts again! I blew the axle oil seal last night inserting the axle back into place. Im hoping I can get it back together this afternoon if Napa has the part. It I dont get it back together today, can I hit you up this week?

Tony Thank you! I actually finished up Friday. It only took me 4 weeks. Long Story.....Very Long Story.... Basically if it could go wrong it did. But that is what happens when you marry a wife with a maden name of Murphy.
