Took my technician test on Thursday, passed 33/35. I was happy. We get the free handy talkies next week, they are programming them for us. The week after, they are starting up the General class, I will probably take that too. That's another 8-9 weeks :p I like getting the comp time for going. The manager that went from our school district got 27/35. Had a good laugh at that.
I'll post up my # once I get it.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Congrats man!

Thanks guys.

It will be another 9-10 weeks or so for my General licence lol. Hey, I can't complain since it is free and I get comp time for going. Still thinking about which radio I want to get for my truck, but I am not in a rush for it.

Hmm, Matt isn't licensed? What is he waiting for...:rolleyes:

call sign/radio

I had been checking for the past few days on the ARRL site for my call sign and finally gave up on it. Last night, I go to the final session of class and one of the instructors calls me up and asks me if I had my call sign yet, I said no. He looked it up and low and behold, there it was. Guess I gave up too early.

At any rate, my call sign is KF7OOF. OOF rather amusing. Everyone else in the class has a call sign of KJ6*** I was the only standout.

The free radio that we got were Yaesu FT-60R. They programmed them for everyone in the class, but I don't think I really like how they did it. So, going to get the software in a few weeks after I play around with it some.

Well, have a good weekend everyone.

You probably gave your NV address at the test, the number is an area designation;

6 California
7 Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Wyoming
