Any recommendations, The MT's on my 4runner aren't going to cut it with the type of snow we get down here , plus I need to take my kid's up to Cypress - So I am picking up a set of winters with pin-able holes I would lie to add some siping too.

I have a set of tires with 5000 kms on them, I was unaware that they wouldn't stud used tires. Maybe Ill rethink my plans and just find a place to sipe the set I bought . They will still be better than the Nitto tera grapplers I have now.

you can buy sipers online from ebay that are apparently good for 110 bucks with a few different head attachments.

Honestly I think your best off if you can afford it to buy a set of winter tires and get them on separate rims.
My dad picked up a basically brand new set the other year on rims for $500 bucks.
They are out there, well maybe a little more in the north.

I am using a studded winter rated goodyear that I am happy with. Its not like a full out ice tire but it does its job just fine with all the skeena driving I do.

The problem with studding used rubber is the holes can pack up with crap and may have to be cleaned out to accept studs.
Not worth the labor cost.
This is what i was told years ago, and it sounds right.

That is correct. Also, it is getting hard to find any tire shop in the LML which has a stud gun and people who know how to use it.
