I have a 1996 80 Series with 250,000 miles that developed a hole in a cylinder over the weekend and the engine is shot. This rig is equipped with the Diff Lock and the body is in very good condition. What is the 80 worth as parts for sale? I am clueless. I plan to look for another series 80 with hopefully 125,000 to 150,000 miles and carry on as before. Any ideas would be a great help. :crybaby:Thanks

Welcome:flipoff2:

Where are you located?

Why not just get a used engine and swap them?

What you can get for it.

Someone locally just sold a locked 80 with a blown (bad HG) motor for $1500 I think it was.

If you part it out you will get more for it, but it will sit for months and you have to be willing to take the time to tear it all apart and ship everything, as well as deal with a lot of tire kickers. Selling it off all as one piece will be quicker, but not many people will want to touch it as phrases like "hole in a cylinder" scares 'em.

Where are you located?

Northern Utah, Logan in fact. I'd rather pick one up with less miles than go the new engine route. I do a lot of guiding during the fall and put on a pile of "two track" miles during the season. Mechanically inclined I am not, I just drive and try and maintain them. A Toyota fan to the core.

X2 on swap, you know everything else about the rest
of your truck, I would source a low mileage used or new engine. Just me though!
