Ok, so im going to be doing a dual battery setup soon, fridge, and electrical panel and the winch... so i need someone's help that knows how to do electrical projects well.

I literally suck at this and want it done right. I will pay you for your time.

Anyone wanna help out ?

Your best bet may be Iron Pig Offroad for the dual battery set up. He sells the whole package ready to put in that has the battery box, isolator, and all the wiring precut to length (you supply the battery). Running lines back to the rear of the truck for a couple of 12V outlets is a piece of cake.

Loan me $500 you are willing to write off as a bad debt and we can both install dual batteries!

Dave, I just re-did my dual battery setup and helped with/watched another one. My 2-cents is to go with the Hellroaring set up for the controls and get the dual battery tray setup stuff from Dan. And get the 12-v outlets from Digi-Key. Oh hell, just check out the dual battery FAQ  Seriously though I could definitely assist, time permitting.

But that's what I did, got the Hellroaring BIC-95300B, the remote module and big fuse link and I've been really happy with it.

Also got the Corona-based Odyssey battery....very, very nice ;)

I've read the write ups on both of those. I guess i just really wanted someone to help me with the rear 12v outlets and power for the rear. The dual battery setup i can do myself with one of the two kits.

Yep, Odyssee are bitchen batteries.

Ok. I just ran 1/0 gauge wire (12v+) back from the HR unit to the rear cubby like Desert Dude to a fuse/junction box. I think his approach accomplished what I wanted. then one dedicated connection for the fridge and two outlets for ???. the digikey outlets were super cheap and very nice. I put two additional 12v outlets up front near the gear shift and another one on the back of the center armrest facing the second row seats. I never wired in a converter like Desert Dude did but I will, just couldn't afford it all at once.

I will gladly help but you have to help me do mine at the same time..

I am off thursday, friday and have to work saturday night this week give me a call....

If I am going to moab I have some work to do.. and electrical is one of them...

Thoughts.....

For dual batterys I like the setup I did in my blazer where I had a disconect switch between the batteries, and one disconnect switch for the line to the winch. I also used a big diode so both batteries would charge with the switch between batteries was open.. this kept the batts seperate but still allowed them to charge.. (the main reason for the winch disconnect was the winch was wired front and rear, used #2 welding cable)

There is a link on mud somewhere for a jeep fuse box. the guy used a jeep cherokee fuse box and mounted in in front of the battery. used the relays and fuses as an extra fuse box. looked clean and has enough relays for anthing we would need, I have my buddy the wrecking yard scrounger going to find me one or two if you want one.. he is usually cheep/free

for wireing to the rear for a fridge and another power plug one of the 30amp relays would work good, then run a #10 all the way back and have more than 1 plug in the rear, the fridge only draws 4.5 amps and this would give you more than enough juice... and allow it to be switched easily... and let me know before you buy a fridge I may be able to do a group buy...

I have to work during the week (mon-fri). I have plans on Saturday already too dang it. Plus i'd need to get the parts together.

Im probably going with the 42 Quart ARB fridge... if you can get group buy going>?

Dave - West Marine has a very nice simple dual 12V outlet I stuck on my back panel. Not expensive. Don't recall what guage wire I ran, but it's pretty beefy as I didn't want any issues. One switched on the cig lighter fuse and one unswitched to the simple fuse box I've got in the engine bay.

Check out page 4 of this post for my pics of my CO2 install and the 21V outlets to it's left.

Looks good man. I may have to run over to West Marine. So you dont have them 'hot' all the time? Or it's only when the truck is running? Im trying to follow the 'switched' part you're talking about.

Switched - on/off with the ignition.
Unswitched - constant hot to the battery.

ah, gotcha. Ok, told you i dont know hardly anything about eletrical. The most i ever do is wire up - a pair of lights, cb or a winch straight to the battery :D

somebody say group buy for a fridge?
i'm all ears.

Lets try next week that will give some time to get everything times 2... my buddy steve the body guy is going to the wrecking yard friday and will let me know on the fuse boxes, he said they should be easy to find and less then 5$.. also if you go get one of the plug panels brent suggested get 2 and I will pay you back,

Ray, im down for that. So you're getting the cable and connector pieces we'll need? Are we doing this at your place? You've seen where i live, no place to wrench.

I'll see what i can find at West Marine.

Ok, since im sick i have time to spend money lol Im going the same route as Kevin.

Ordered the relocation kit from Slee, ordered the toyota battery mount from CDan, the switch from West Marine and the junction block from 12volt guy.

Basically all set., just need a battery and Rayjon will help out with cable and and connectors :)
