I donated a hitch tatoo yesterday.

I was on the road yesterday and this little lowered tuner civic was all over my ass and staring me down in my sideview. Unfortunately (for him) a squirrel ran out in front of me causing me to hit the brakes hard. Well I ended up with nothing, but he got a nice square punched out of his front bumber.

we had a similar thing like that happen on the hiway in colorado last fall.
the guy who did the brake check ended up killing the guy behind him.

:frown:

i dont see the point

I understand what you're saying. However, we were not on a highway and there wasn't other traffic around. Also, we were on a side street just starting after a stop sign, so we were traveling very slow. He was about 2 feet from the back of my TLC prior to the stop at speeds of about 45 mph.

BTW, I got those brackets made here in town through a friend of a friend that has a metal shop. He did an awesome job, I'll have to post some pics when it's all up.

I guess he forgot to modify his brakes and reflex skills with all those other cool mods. :D :D

I brake for critters too; tailgater or not. Did you miss the squirrel OK? :D

So in a deal like that, does one just drive off or do you need to stop and the whole nine yards?
I often wondered what would happen in that situation.

It's really up to the person that rear ends you as long as there is no damage to your vehicle. If they need to make an insurance claim they are gonna need an insurance report. (Probably won't help them much in this instance though.) Most of the time people will know it's their fault and insurance is not going to cover them so they will ask that you not report it. I've had this happen before when I had a monster Oldsmolbile Delta 88 eat my hitch at a stop light.

Guy got out, told me it was his faul for not paying attention and that he'd rather not report it. I looked at the rear end of mine and it just put some shine back on my hitch so I told him no problem and we both parted ways. He was happy I had a hitch too. He didn't want to buy a bumper!
