I've owned a lot of Cruisers and so I know the low beam bulbs leave something to be desired.

I just figured since we got an LX now that they would be brighter with the prohector lenses.

They may be on the newer 470's but not our 98! I went to the auto parts store to get the Sylvania Silver Star "Ultra" that I usually put in my Cruisers, but they didn't have them in the H! needed for the LX, so I went fot the "gusto" and got their brightest bulbs, the zXe. I know with the brighter bulbs the life expectancy is less, but I'm very happy with the results!

Sorry, I know this thread is useless without pics, but I didn't take any pics yet!

Do a complete retrofit like I did or buy a hid kit. You might get 4 - 6 months out of them high wattage bulbs depending on use. Here's a pic of my 03. Retrofitted with SC430 projectors & tsx-r clear lens.

HID's in the low beam's will make your oem high beams redundant. ;) Then update the high beams to HIR's. IMO, the factory low beams on my '01 LX were, by far, the crappiest I've ever seen.
