I am planting the seeds for an adventure next year with the Wife and Evan. would love to see Moab, likely in june, july or august. anyone else up for a family adventure? and any sage advise ?

Next year as in 2019? I would love to go. Need to talk to the wife about it.

Thanx Jason, I was wondering about the heat. Evan is in school till June, hence the summer excursion. Maybe the alpine loop near ouray would be cooler

Depending on the dates. My family and I might be interested.

So we are a maybe for now.

that would be great Del, Evan is almost 12 now, should be good with your boys

If it was too hot, you could always "stop short" and hang out in the mountains instead :)

Sounds like a lot of fun - beautiful area! Would love to go, but we are just in "wait and see" mode with things now :)

I've done CO and the alpine loop. If you choose that option then the later half of the summer. Some of the passes may not be clear of snow as late as the 4th of July.

Jeri wants to go to Seattle this summer and I'd like to do Rubithon in the loop.
We've blocked out June on our calendar.
We could add or substitute Moab if we had good ONSC company.

I’ve been out there several times for the FJ Cruiser Summit (7 badges from event) where we hit Moab either before or after the event. Yes, it can be hot, but it’s a “dry” heat and manageable depending on what you want to do. It never inhibited our enjoyment, just meant any mountain biking/hiking were done in the am or evening and with the FJC, air conditioning made the trip to the trails comfortable but we always had the windows down on the trails.

I would say to “just do it”, you wont regret it, hit Ouray on the way out or back, it’s a beautiful part of CO. Doing Black Bear pass and driving the Million Dollar Highway are must do parts of the trip. I can go on, plan the trip and go...

I'm itching for another road trip out west. We might do something shorter on the east coast once I finish my caster correction, regear, axle overhaul, valve seals, rear main seal, TC leak, exhaust leak, and roof rack overhaul.

Let me know when you make it out here.
